"Manufacturing Sustainability"

Dublin City University , 30th August – 1st September 2011

Conference Chairmen:
Dr. Paul Young
Dr. John Geraghty

Welcome to the 28th International Manufacturing Conference, hosted this year by Dublin City University.

New: Conference programme is now online.

The theme of this year’s conference relates to twin requirements that in order for our society to survive and grow we must ensure that our consumption of resources is controlled so that future generations will be able to continue production of new goods.  The challenge to those involved in manufacturing is to create this sustainability.  In the present economic climate, however, there is a “equal and opposite reaction” challenge for our society – that of sustaining manufacturing so that the industry is viable.  These two challenges are essentially two sides of the same coin.
